Wine Tips
-
Take
leftover wine and freeze it in your ice cube trays. Spray the trays first with a little pan vegetable spray. When the wine cubes are solid, remove them
and put into zip lock bags. Each cube
is about ¼ cup of wine. These can be
added to soups stews, gravies, and even replace vinegar in salad dressing.
- When
adding wine to cooked foods, add during the last five minutes.
- To use
in salad dressings, use half wine and half vinegar.
- Red
wines can be used to dye fabric and dried flowers.
- Add red wine to the water in a vase of white
flowers, (especially carnations). The
wine acts as a nutrient for the flowers prolonging the life of the arrangement
and as it is drawn up into the flower head, it will dye the edges of the
flowers.
