Veraison
A French term, veraison was adopted to the English literature on viticulture. Veraison signifies the change from berry growth to berry ripening in grapes.
During veraison the berries become soft and take on the characteristic of their specific varieties. From beginning of veraison to harvest, the berries will increase in volume, weight and sugar content (brix ).
