Toasting Tips
1. Toasts are associated with an alcoholic beverage but that is not a requirement.
2. Always stand. Toasts should be delivered standing so that everyone can see and hear the speaker.
3. Prepare ahead, practice it, be ready, get to the point quickly.
4. Smile, laugh, and be positive. Start, stay, and end on an up beat note.
5. Clearly raise your glass at the appropriate time so that others know when to join in.
6. Everyone should touch glasses just after the spoken toast and before taking a drink.
7. Everyone should join in, even with an empty glass.
