Julian Street, Table Topics

Well known for popularizing knowledge of French wines and cooking, Julian Street received the Chevalier's Cross of the Legion of Honor from the French government in appreciation for his work.  His works are housed at Princeton University, including manuscripts and notes for Table Topics, which was later published by Bellows & Co.  Included in these works is a quote which has been used time and time again in the wine industry.

"Blot out every book in which wine is praised and you blot out the world's great literature, from the Bible and Shakespeare to the latest best-seller.  Blot out the wine drinkers of the world and you blot out history, including saints, philosophers, statesmen, soldiers, scientists and artists."
