Many rose` wines are called blush wines. These terms are interchangeable. The term blush was invented in the 1980's by wine marketers to avoid using the word rose` because in the 80's, pink wines were not very popular.
Blush wines are made in a similar fashion as white wines. The juice is not allowed to soak on the skins. It is removed from the skins before a deep red color and heavy tannins can be imparted on the wine.
